In 1995, working with the Toiyabe National Forest, the most intact of the kilns was stabilized. Later, the Forest Service contracted with an unknown party to restore that kiln. The restoration failed when fill placed in the kiln to support roof dome masonry was not removed. This placed lateral stress on the kiln walls that could not be handled by the dome structure.
This is a National Register eligible property, managed by the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, west of Las Vegas.
