Allred Cabin, Rush Valley, UT. This cabin was built in the late 19th century by Mormon pioneers in Rush Valley, a beautiful but inhospitable location south of the Great Salt Lake and west of Salt Lake City, UT. The family wanted to preserve their history and continue to use the cabin. They owners had done some work but assistance was required to complete their vision.
In 2009, Heritage Preservation Resources installed a new spandrel and mid-wall logs; using blind attachments, holes left by a chimney in the wall were patched and the wall finished. The family used Heritage Preservation Resources’ non-cracking, daubing formula chink and daub the space between the logs.
